Is Acer trying to be smart with new launches ? or is Acer Smart ?

" A hero cannot be a hero unless in a heroic world. ". Acer to believes in the same philosophy, and showed its presence in Tablet segment too.

World's second largest computer manufacturer has joined foray to compete Apple's product line , with launch of new tablets , which will efficiently do the work of iPad too . Acer launched 3 tablet devices in an attempt to compete with Apple iPad. Samsung with its Galaxy Tab ,BlackBerry with announcement of  Playbook and Toshiba with its Tablet device Folio 100 , had already shown their interest to lead the market.

Acer revealed in New York that two of the tablets will be Android based and will have,4.8 inch, 7-inch , while the third one will be 10.1 inch screen and will be Microsoft Windows based.Android based devices will be available from April while Windows based devices will be available from February.Acer ,yesterday itself released a smart-phone.
The 10.1 inch tablet has dual core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon microprocessor, able to deliver HD.It comes with a 5 megapixel camera and a front facing camera.

Its 7 inch tablet has 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon microprocessor with Flash 10.1 support.

Acer is looking to capture the market share of 105 with these tablet devices , which are classified between laptops and smart-phones.Apple has already a big share in this market , with a purchase of 3 million devices within 80 days of launch.Currently Apple dominated 95% of the market.

This market is lucrative to electronic majors and less competition is another advantage.Even Acer policy makers believe its an opportunity for the company to increase its presence in US.

Iconia
Acer released its dual touch laptop in this press release. This laptop is designed amazingly, with two touch screens, one for display , and other for controlling(like keyboard ),though it can also be used as display screen.

Acer held a press conference in New York today to show its dual-screen Iconia laptop PC and three Android tablets.Iconia is a powerful device with Intel Core i5 processor , 4gb ram ,640 GB hard drive ,Wi-Fi, 3G and USB 3.0 port with twin USB 2.0 ports for connectivity and comes with Windows 7 Home Premium .Acer has developed its own software for control, names Acer Ring.

With these surprise launches, Acer has tightened the Steve Jobs eyes, who claimed BlackBerry's PlayBook a "dead before arrive" .However BlackBerry cleared that its PlayBook is meant  for businesses only.We must say one thing, Acer joined market at very right time .
