The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S II will be made available in India from next month. A worthy successor to the heavily popular Galaxy S GT-I9000, the new Galaxy S II was recently got the 1.2Ghz processor upgrade. Though the insight which came via Twitter update was pulled down, the handset has become more desirable for smartphone enthusiasts and geeks.
New Samsung Galaxy S II sports a massive 4.3-inch multi-touch supporting Super AMOLED Plus display with 480x800 pixel resolution. Under the 8.5mm slim body, Galaxy S II houses a dual-core processor which is said to be 1.2GHz but we await an official confirmation from Samsung India.
Galaxy S II would be the first Samsung smartphone to come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread in India and will have TouchWiz 4.0 UI layered on it. Distinct features of this massive smartphone include an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p full HD recording, 2 megapixel front facing camera, 1GB RAM, 3G Support, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and 1650 mAh battery.
Samsung's flagship model will obviously come with Social Hub and for India, the company may also introduce Music Hub and Game Hub.
Price is a major concern and being a top of the line smartphone, do expect it to be priced higher than Rs. 30,000 initially. If you plan to wait till the price falls then it would take about 3-4 months for a price drop of about Rs. 2,000 - I don't guarantee it though.
