Android gets Ported to Palm Pre

We've reported about Google Android being ported on iPhone and even Windows Mobile based HD2. Now, a Palm enthusiast has managed to boot Palm Pre with Google Android and make it run smoothly. Sounds quite surprising but Android runs perfectly and lag-free on Pre. PreCentral Forum member k3dar has even posted a complex method of porting Android operating system on a Palm Pre device.

Though it's not a full functional port, it's good enough to start off for an enthusiastic project. The Pre boots Android via USB connected to Linux Machine. It's possible to dual-boot the Palm Pre device with webOS and Android. At this moment, the device booted and worked smoothly.

This is not the first time Android has been ported on Pre. Back in January 2009, a bunch of enthusiasts called OmapZoom managed to get Android running on Texas Instruments OMAP 3 processor.

Following is a poor quality video recorded via Palm Centro by k3dar.
