Verizon, on Monday, have revealed the Samsung Continuum officially in New York City, with a launch date of Nov 11. Samsung Continuum is the most popular and rumored Galaxy Device. Its the first Smartphone which will introduce a secondary display on its device.
The device will be presented to the users on Nov 11, with 3.4 inch 'Amoled display' and a 1.8 inch 'Amoled Ticker display' ,below it. The secondary display will function as an interactive display, to provide easy and smart access to news, weather forecast, sports , entertainment etc on the basis of the selection made by the user. The Ticker facility will display the various alerts ,even in the standby mode ,through the embedded grip sensor technology. Along with this it is also embedded with Hummingbird processor of 1GHz, high definition camera of 5MP and an internal memory of 8GB.The only thing is, it will be released with the android 2.1 operating system rather than the latest 2.2 or say 2.3 which will be soon in the market.
The Continuum will be made available from Nov 11 on the basis of the orders, which are done previously. Then from Nov 18 will be made available in Verizon stores. It will cost $199.99 after $100 mail-in rebate (MIR) under a new 2 year contract with Verizon, $269.99 after a $100 MIR under 1 year contract with Verizon and $579 for owning Smart-phone without any contract.
