Nintendo Wii 2 Rumors Spike after Price Cut

Last month, Nintendo America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, hinted that the next Wii home game console won't have 3D in it. While the company remains all hush-hush about its next generation console, price cut of $30 (Rs. 1,350 approx.) has been announced on the Wii game console. For the US region, the new Nintendo Wii console price of $169.99 is already made effective through Best Buy stores, reported VentureBeat.

Back in 2009, Nintendo had announced a $50 (Rs. 2,250 approx.) price cut on Nintendo Wii game console. Since then we've been hearing rumors of Wii 2 or the Wii successor. However, Nintendo hasn't made any hardware announcements for its home game console space. The new price cut is being reflected online on Best Buy stores for US and there's no confirmation from Nintendo if the new prices would be effective worldwide.

The price cut is being speculated to suggest the arrival of the Wii 2 console that will bring HD gaming and multimedia playback. After adding glasses-free 3D in Nintendo 3DS, the company is not too keen in including 3D support in its home game console. So its most likely to support HD resolution gaming.

Now all eyes are set on Sony and Microsoft to make some price-related announcements for their respective game consoles.
